At the Dental Sedation Center, we are compassionate about the special needs of patients who are fearful of the dentist. We understand that fear of the dentist has nothing to do with lack of character, or bravery. Sadly, we’ve heard countless stories from patients who have suffered a traumatic experience (often in childhood) in a dental chair. The result of this emotional trauma makes it next to impossible for these patients to seek future dental care.

We take great pride in knowing that we provide a specialized service that allows patients to fearlessly and painlessly care for their oral health, which ultimately has an effect on their general health – including increased risk of heart attack, stroke and diabetes, to name a few.

The Dental Sedation Center will help make your fear of the dentist a thing of the past and instead make going to the dentist an absolute dream. Using Conscious Sedation we are able to make your visit relaxing and stress free.

Other Services

While we specialize in sedation dentistry, all dental procedures listed below can be done with or without dental sedation. Some patients simply appreciate our gentle touch and our serene environment and don’t need, or wish, to be sedated during their dental visit. The choice is always yours.

Meet Dr. Cohen

Dr. Patric Cohen has highly specialized training in conscious sedation. Following in his grandfather’s footsteps, who began his dental practice in 1929, Dr. Cohen attended Stanford University and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at University of Southern California. In 1984 Dr. Cohen began his dental practice in Beverly Hills.

What our patients have to say about us:

I had a terrible experience at the dentist when I was a child and since then I’ve been petrified of going to the dentist. I put off fixing my teeth for YEARS! But it got to the point where I just had to so something. I can’t tell you how thankful I am that I found out about the Dental Sedation Center. It’s not like I’m going to tell you that I look forward to going to the dentist now. But I WILL tell you that I’m not afraid anymore, thanks to the new oral sedation method I didn’t even know existed and, of course, thanks to Dr. Cohen and his staff.

I’m embarrassed to tell you how long it had been since I went to a dentist. I am also embarrassed to say what a terrible breath problem I had. When I spoke to people, I would literally adjust my breathing to be very shallow, as well as the way my mouth moved – so people wouldn’t smell my breath. The hardest part were the comments my family would make to me. They were kidding, but it still hurt. I was so afraid of the dentist, the only way I could bring myself to getting my teeth cleaned, was to do it under sedation. Now I’m free of that terrible burden AND the bad breath. I’m starting to get all of my teeth fixed and can’t wait to have a healthy mouth again. If you are like me, please know there is an answer.

I had a tooth that had been bothering me for a long time. I let it go, until I felt this bump that hurt when I pressed on it. My friend told me it was likely and abscess and encouraged me to do something about it quickly. I found the Dental Sedation Center online and I almost cry now when I think about everything in the past that I unnecessarily experienced at the dentist. My friend was right, it was an abscess and I learned if I had not taken care of it, it could have had caused a hole in my heart! For the first time in over 35 years, I had a tooth fixed with no pain and no fear. Hallelujah.

Even the thought of having my mouth examined was frightening to me. I hate that hook they always stick into your mouth to see what’s going on in your mouth. I never understood why they needed to stick a sharp hook into a hole in my tooth. Isn’t it obvious that a hole means the tooth needs fixing!? Dr. Cohen kept ALL the instruments away from me when I first met him. The only thing he put in my mouth was the little round mirror and even then he asked my permission. For anyone reading this who has suffered in a dental chair in the past, I can tell you that Dr. Cohen gets it and he won’t do anything that will freak you out, or (more importantly) hurt you.
